Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Home to the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games, Rio de Janeiro is the hottest getaway destination right now! Expect dancing the samba whilst sampling delicious Portuguese cuisine, Rio has so much to offer. Breathe in the sweet night air with a walk around the city. Or better yet, make sure you experience the greatest beach to man the Copacabana, here you’ll find local food, people and activities.
New Orleans, USA
Not a usual USA must see but things have changed! New Orleans is a great place to go even when it’s not Mardi Gras. Best known as the home of R&B, this city has can be said to have a mix of flavours especially their Cajun spice, pulled pork and catfish sandwiches. If you’re looking for a chilled out summer then there is no place better than New Orleans with its amazing vibe and cuisine. If you have a chance to visit New Orleans, don’t pass it up.
Cebu, Philippines
This gorgeous island is world-renowned for food, fun, and festivities. Cebu has incredible beaches which are best experienced with a group of friends. You’ll be able to enjoy fresh seafood and sweet sticky rice and you might want to treat yourself to a fresh smoothie or a pina colada with some local Filipino rum. Food and lodging in the Philippines is very inexpensive which is perfect for any student budget, so you can make your pounds stretch that much further with the luxuries of daily snorkelling and massages.
Prague, Czech Republic
Prague is a fairy tale dream come true and a perfect destination for an ideal travel experience. Take the time to explore castles and drink some of the most beautiful architectural sites and experience the magnificent sunrises. Prague is great for a weekend away, so why not get your friends together this summer for a trip to remember.
Bangkok, Thailand
If you’ve never been to Thailand before, then this summer why don’t you get your friends together for a one in a lifetime trip. With non-stop sun, affordable hotels and hostels and the beaches are to die for, Thailand is a student mecca. Be sure to experience a full moon party and some of their delicious fresh cuisine. San Francisco, USA
San Francisco is a fascinating city for a number of reasons. It’s smaller than most people would think, in both population and size. There are under a million people who actually live there, and you’ll have nothing but fun! The artistic and open community is a perfect student destination as San Francisco has a very free and accepting vibe; the food is good and the city is beautiful. New York, US
New York will probably be on every list you see and there’s a reason why! New York is the home of so many creative minds and the capital of east coast entertainment. Shanghai, China
As it is the largest city in China, Shanghai can be said to be a cosmopolitan, student friendly capital. Shanghai is remarkably clean for its huge population and will surely not disappoint you if you’re looking for a trip that’s going to change the way you look at the world.
Edinburgh, Scotland
This capital city is one of mystery, history, and culture. Lose yourself in a Scottish pub or dance the night away to local music and performances. Experience some of the world’s most beautiful castles or spend your nights in the many different galleries around the city.
Naples, Italy
Finally, why should you visit Naples? Well, Naples is the place pizza was invented. So think about it, if they are the ones who invented it, they are also most definitely the ones who perfected it. Ask any Italian and they will tell you pizza Napoli is the only way to go. Besides the amazing food, Naples is also great because has many beautiful parks, architecture and it holds many artefacts unearthed from Pompeii in the National Archaeological Museum.
